With a copper plate counter inspired by whiskey distillers creates a casual atmosphere. We are aiming to be a place where you can take a breath and to have a rest at any time.
The name of "hug" meaning, we wanted to create a place that “love will overflow without words”

The World’s attracted Ichiro's Malt and the Seasonal Wine

At hug, we mainly serve Japanese whiskey and seasonal wines selected by the owner. For whiskey, we select the world popular Ichiro's Malt. Although it is considered to be difficult to obtain, we always have several different brands available. Also, we have a bottle-keeping system, so that we have the largest number of Ichiro’s malts lined up in our bottle cabinet in Japan.
You can enjoy a wide range of Ichiro’s Malt by drinking each brand to compare. Each malt is also available by the glass. Check out the menu page for details.

hug Highball

Hug Highball is a different kind of highball than others. We use Calvados as brandy, and divide it with soda. Also, Calvados is made from apples, this highball has a dry taste with a slight scent of apple. We wanted people who don't drink a lot of whiskey to be able to enjoy this highball.

Ichiro’s Malt White & Grain

The official name is "Malt & Grain World Blended Whiskey". This standard bottle has the Chichibu distillery usen as the key malt, blended with malt from nine distilleries and two types of grain wine. It is characterized by its sweetness and richness like pear and honey, and its spicy peaty aroma.

Ichiro’s Malt MWR

This wine is a pure malt whiskey, using the Hanyu Distillery as the key malt. It is blended with several types of malt, then is re-matured in Mizunara Reserve Vat. It has an aroma reminiscent of incense, which the president Mr. Hido describes it as "the scent of temples and shrines.” The sweetness of dried grapes and chocolate will spread inside your mouth.

This malt is blended by batting sherry cask malt from the Hanyu distillery and Mizunara Cask malt from the Chichibu distillery. It has an aroma reminiscent of vanilla, and the taste of floral sweetness like cinnamon and ginger.

This is a pure malt whiskey made by using barrels that are used for maturing red wine for post-maturing the whiskey. It has a reddish amber color, and the taste of the acidity and sweetness of grapes, a gingery spiciness, will give a lingering aftertaste of red wine barrels.

Another name called the "Miracle of Napa,” is brewed in Napa Valley by a Japanese winemaker Tsujimoto. This is a fine wine with delicate tannins and fruitiness, and you can enjoy it for a special occasion. We offer this wine at a relatively reasonable price.
